15th Adition - IISE 2012
IISE 2012 was a well appreciated show by the exhibitors and visitors.
After attracting a significant visitor response from security agencies, including the police and para-military forces, besides a surfeit of institutional buyers and general businesspersons, the four-day India International Security Expo concluded successfully in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi with an awards presentation ceremony.
The awards were presented by the Chief Guest at the Ceremony, Shri D.K. Pathak, Additional Director General, Central Reserve Police Force, for Excellence in Display as also to winners of a Band Competition organized during the fair. Present on the occasion were Shri Vikram Sehgal, General Manager (Security), India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), senior ITPO officials, representatives from security agencies and para- military forces, participants and media persons.
The Awards for Excellence in display were presented under two categories – Shell Scheme and Bare Space. FAAC India Limited and Bharat Electronics Limited bagged the Gold and Silver trophies under the Shell Scheme Category, while IJS Grand was awarded the bronze. In the Bare Space Category, Hope Security Equipments, LG Electronics and Smiths Detection Veecon Systems won the Gold, Silver and Bronze trophies respectively.
In the Band Competition, organized for the first time in the IISE series of Fairs, bands from six police and para-military agencies- CRPF, CISF, BSF, RPF, Shasastra Seema Bal and Delhi Police participated with the top three awards being claimed by BSF, CRPF and Delhi Police in that order.
Shri Pathak complimented ITPO and associate organisations for holding the IISE 2012 in line with international standards and with better facilities. Stressing the need to modernize the police, he appealed to the security industry, represented by the participants, to produce the range of sophisticated equipment and gadgetry needed by the police and para-military forces to combat insurgency effectively. The need for detection and communication devices was particularly emphasized in this regard. Referring to security equipment industry as force multipliers, he observed that it has a vital responsibility to supply state-of-the-art equipment and technologies for immediate security and safety response.
Expressing his happiness over the good participation response in the IISE2012, Shri Sehgal said that ITPO has already received participation for the 16th edition of IISE 2013, which would be organised on a larger format. It was informed that, as a special gesture, ITPO has decided not to enhance the participation charges for the next edition.
According to Shri Sehgal, IISE 2012 was highly successful in terms of attracting a large number of business visitors besides high-profile dignitaries, including opinion and decision makers. Among the dignitaries visited the fair were Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Jitender Prasad, Delhi Police Commissioner, Shri Neeraj Kumar, and other Heads of the Para-Military Forces and security agencies.
